Amy Pal in her salon

Meet Amy Pal

I'm Amy. I spent 10 years building and running Whip Salon. Now I help other salon owners figure out what to do next.

I'm not a professional speaker or a generic business consultant. I'm a salon owner who built Whip Salon from one location to six, then sold the business in 2026. Now I work one-on-one with other salon owners who are trying to figure out money, staffing, pricing, and growth. This is the stuff nobody teaches you in cosmetology school.

How Whip Salon happened.

I opened my first salon in my home town because I thought I could do it better. I didn't have any experience behind the chair, but I had a lot of experience being in the chair. I wanted to create a salon chain that was all about the client experience.

I was right about some things and wrong about a lot of others. I didn't know payroll, didn't know leases, didn't know how to hire well. I learned all of it on the job, mostly by making mistakes and fixing them fast.

Getting to six locations meant hiring real teams, not just stylists but managers who could run a location without me in the building. It meant building systems for scheduling, inventory, and pay that could survive a bad week. It meant learning the hard parts of scaling: staffing gaps, culture drift between locations, and the strange job of managing managers instead of managing chairs. Some of it went smoothly. A lot of it didn't, and I had to figure it out anyway.

Selling the business in 2026 was its own education. To sell a company, it has to run well without you. That means clean numbers, real systems, a team that can carry it. Getting Whip Salon to that point taught me more about running a business than almost anything else I've done, and it's exactly why I coach the way I do now.
